All around Nijmegen! In this cycling tour you’ll cross the Waal river to ride alongside Nijmegen’s skyline. The bridges of Nijmegen hold an abundance of stories within them that get more and more vivid as you close the distance to the bridges. This tour will lead you through various times within history. From Roman times to Operation Market Garden, but also covering the relatively new Spiegelwaal. After the bridges we’ll ride our bicycles to the city centre to visit some significant sites, admire the architecture, and explore the narrow, twisting streets of the lower city area. Surprise yourself, and let Nijmegen’s vast horizons pull you in.
To turn your downtown experience into something extra special, you can choose to plan another activity to do after the cycling tour. Here’s a couple of options you can add during your cycling tour booking:
- A guided tour of the heart of Nijmegen, the Stevenskerk.
- Think you might like to grab a drink and a bite after the cycling tour? You might want to make reservations at Grand café Waterwolf to enjoy its gorgeous view of the Waal.
- Beer tasting session of Nijmegen-made beers at STOOM!
- Visit the centuries-old location where the Lymborch brothers grew up, the founders of Dutch painting. In The House of van Lymborch Brothers you’ll be absorbed into the exciting story of Herman, Paul and Johan van Lymborch. Enjoy their art and experience history in the authentic basement of their 14th century workshop.Painting by the Van Lymborch brothers from the 14th century
