Grand café Waterwolf in Nijmegen was founded by enthusiastic entrepreneurs who want nothing but the best for their guests. Many of the dishes are home-made, not to mention the meat and fish are primarily prepared using the Big Green Egg. Utilizing the Big Green Egg allows for the food to retain its nutrients and flavor.
Fun, offbeat initiatives are often organized here and you’re able to play all sorts of games; inside the homey grand café as well as outside on the green outdoor terrace. There’s an effort here to always strive for a special and original approach.
The title of this special spot originates from the work of art standing 4 meter tall near the Waalkade named ‘The Waterwolf and the Aquanaut’. The piece symbolizes humankind’s struggle against water. The aquanaut depicts the young city of Nijmegen, while the Wolf refers to the nature surrounding the oldest city in the Netherlands. The statue is located in a green playing ground, and as such, it has become a frequent meeting place for playing children. Grand café Waterwolf’s green outdoor terrace has the perfect view to admire the prominent work of art from!
